The monthly Brush Country Music Jamboree, sponsored by the Live Oak County Fair Association, will be held Tuesday, April 1, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Live Oak County Coliseum.

Headlining the program will be accordion player Chris Rybak of Hallettsville. Other guests include Bettye Jean and Karl Moore and Jay Grimes of San Antonio; 7-year-old Kaylie Layne Shoemake of Victoria; Bobby Williford of Three Rivers; and Cajun singer Jerry Naquin of Corpus Christi.

The cost is $3 per person. For more information, call Jerry Retzloff at 786-3334. Organizers remind the community that the Jamboree will put on a three-hour program at the Three Rivers Salsa Festival on Saturday, April 5, beginning at 1 p.m.

Jerry Naquin is a pure-blood Cajun born in south Louisiana and is now residing in Corpus Christi. Whether he´s singing and playing guitar in his Cajun-French dialect, strumming a country standard or knocking out an old-time rock´n´roll number, he can do it all.

You might find him headlining at the Laghiappe on the Bayou in Chauvin, La, or sharing his talents to help raise money for a church organization. He´s at home on stage wherever people enjoy his music.
