RYBAK EUROPE TOUR 🌎 JULY 12 - 25, 2022

Tuesday, July 12
Depart from Houston airport with a direct flight to Europe, Germany, Frankfurt.

Wednesday, July 13
Arrival in Frankfurt, one of the largest and most important cities in Germany. The luxury bus with attendant team (including your tour guide) will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the first destination - quaint town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.  This town is perhaps the best known of all on the Romantic Road.  It is a prime example of a walled medieval town - one of the only ones left in Germany.  Its beautiful buildings, walls and alleys have led to it becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in BavariaKäthe Wohlfahrt’s Christmas Village is located in the center of the town just off the Market Square.  You will find the largest selection of German Christmas ornaments worldwide. Upon our arrival you will be treated to a lunch in one of local authentic restaurants. After lunch check-in our hotel, leisure time to rest after a long flight or to enjoy the town by foot - shop, have a nice beer at one of the many beer-gardens or whatever you desire. In the evening dinner at the hotel.

Thursday, July 14
Leave for Munich, the capital of Bavaria region and the center of economic & cultural activity in Southern Germany. We will have a walking tour of the historic core of Munich – the main square Marienplatz with a new town hall built in the Neo-Gothic style and possessing an animated carillon, Church of Our Lady, the vast Late Gothic hall-church which has become the symbol of the city, we will also visit famous beer house – Hofbräuhaus which dates from 1589. This is the favorite place where every day 17500 mugs of beer in 1-liter tankards are served. Check-in our hotel in the afternoon. Dinner will be served at another famous Munich beer house – Augustiner close to the hotel.

Friday, July 15
On this day you will experience the famous Passion Play which takes place only once in ten years. The history of the Passion Play began nearly 400 years ago. In 1633, the Oberammergau villagers vowed to perform the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ every tenth year if God spared them from the bubonic plague that was ravaging the region. The villagers were answered by God and therefore in 1634 the first Passion Play took place. The promise has been kept until today – this will be the 42nd Passion Play. The inhabitants of the town are the amateur actors of the play & it’s always a great honor to be chosen to perform. We will drive from Munich to a little town Ettal in German Alps to check-in our hotel and have lunch. Right after you will be driven by our bus to Oberammergau. Performance starts at 2:30 p.m. with a 3-hour dinner break and concludes at 10:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 16
Leave for Austria, stop en route in Germany to visit the Eagle's Nest situated just a few miles from Salzburg. It was given to Adolf Hitler for his 50th birthday. There is now a restaurant there, but you can still view the original tea room with a fireplace made of Carrara marble - a gift from Mussolini. The view of the surrounding mountains with Salzburg in the background is unforgettable. The road leading to the Eagle's Nest parking lot was blasted out of solid rock making a road that is one of the most unique in the world. We will go by bus especially adjusted to the narrow road.
In the afternoon enjoy the tour of Salzburg, the charming city of the great musical, ‘Sound Of Music’ and birthplace of Mozart! We'll see the Cathedral, Mirabell Garden, Residenz Square and the fortress Hohensalzburg overlooking the city. Enjoy the beautiful countryside on the way, the ALPS mountain range, waterfalls etc.  Arrive at the hotel, check-in.

Sunday, July 17
Leave Austria for the Czech Republic in the morning. First stop will be Cesky Krumlov, a picturesque town on the river Vltava. This beautiful walled city is the second most popular tourist attraction in the Czech Republic after Prague.  The center of the city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well deserves the designation.  A visit here is like stepping back in time to the 14th century as you stroll this perfectly preserved labyrinth of lanes with its many Renaissance homes and buildings.  Highlights include not only the second largest castle in the country, but also a number of well-preserved religious sites, including the Minorite Monastery and the exquisite Church of St. Vitus, along with a number of interesting art galleries and museums. After lunch in the local brewery, we will continue on the way to Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. In the evening, we will be treated to a dinner and folklore show where you can enjoy a great program with examples of Czech typical dances, songs and playing different instruments.

Monday, July 18
This day we will tour the city of Prague! Guided walking tour of Prague begins with Prague Castle and then on to St. Vitus CathedralHradcany quarter, and the Church of Our Lady Victorious which houses the famous wax statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We will walk across the famous 14th century Charles Bridge and continue on to Old Town Square to see the Astronomical clock. After lunch in the restaurant serving traditional Czech cuisine, we will continue and end up the tour at Wenceslas Square, which has historically been the sight of many events including the 1989 Velvet Revolution demonstrations. Then you will have some free time for individual sightseeing and great shopping at the numerous stores lining the Wenceslas square.
The SECOND OPTION is to just enjoy Prague on your own as our hotel is situated in the heart of this majestic city, in the Old Town district and join us possibly for lunch by the Old Town Square.
In the evening, a historical tram will take us through old Prague just by the Vltava River where we will take a
2-hour buffet dinner boat cruise. You will be able to view the beautiful sights of Prague illuminated at night!

Tuesday, July 19
In the morning depart to eastern part of the Czech Republic – Moravia. We will stop en route in one of the most visually attractive historical towns in Moravia – Kromeriz, and tour the Archbishop’s Chateau with its Chateau Garden. The Archbishop’s Chateau in Kromeriz belongs to the key cultural heritage sites in Moravia. It has been the property of the bishops and archbishops of Olomouc, who used it as their representative residence. Chateau Garden was established after 1509 and over the centuries it was modified several times, reflecting the changing historical styles and fashions. Last modification in English style was done in 1850. In 1998 the complex of the chateau and the gardens was entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Continue on our way to Roznov pod Radhostem, Wallachian region. This is the region of probably the biggest emigration to Texas in the last century and a place where many Texas Czechs have their ancestry. Check-in our hotel, we start the Vallachian PARTY with good food, great music and party in the evening with dinner at the hotel!

Wednesday, July 20
Today we will enjoy the beauties of Wallachia! First, we will visit one of the most popular tourist destinations in this part of the country – the Wallachian Open-Air-Museum. The buildings more than 200 years old stand here all originally furnished. The museum consists of two parts. You will have a choice to tour one of the parts. First is Wallachian Little Wooden Town including the church, convenience store, post office, mayor`s house and other period buildings. Or second option for those with technical interests will be to tour the Mill Valley with real and working examples of how people used the water power for different kinds of businesses between 17th and 19th centuries. In the barn are also all kinds of historical carriages pulled by horses and cattle on display. Then we will drive to neighboring town Frenstat pod Radhostem. We may visit a permanent exhibition devoted to this which is called There Behind the Sea and which explains the reason of emigration to Texas from this area, conditions for emigration and represents at many times distressful journeys across the ocean. Following this we will be greeted by Vice Mayor Jiri Unruh where our group will be officially welcomed at the town hall!  Lunch will be provided at a local family-run restaurant serving traditional cuisine. In the afternoon you can rest at the hotel, use the wellness area with sauna and swimming pool or do whatever you desire ----- before we start the Authentic Vallachian PARTY with great food & music and of course Slivovice at Koliba Kordulka – authentic old fashioned Wallachian restaurant!
